What is CSA?

Community-supported agriculture (CSA) is a system that connects the farmer and consumer within the food system more closely by allowing the consumer to subscribe to the harvest of a certain farm. In short: people buy “shares” of a farm’s harvest in advance and then receive a portion of the crops as the fruits and vegetables are harvested.

Share Details:

Starting in July and continuing for 16 weeks through the end of October you will receive a weekly box filled with delicious, freshly picked fruits and vegetables. The diversity of fruits and vegetables changes as the season progresses. For example, you can enjoy a bountiful box full of tomatoes, peppers, zucchini cucumbers and broccoli in the summer and squash, leeks and cauliflower in the fall. If you would like to opt out of one or more of the fruits and vegetables listed, due to allergies or dislikes, no problem, please indicate on the order form in the comments and we will substitute another item for you.

Half Share:

The best and most cost effective option for a smaller family (2 adults & 2 children) is the half share of our fresh fruits and vegetables. This share consists of 5-6 flavorful different varieties of what’s in season each week. You will receive all the goodness that Southwest Michigan has to offer. This weekly 1/2 bushel box will be enjoyed by you for 16 weeks, starting in July and ending in October. The cost for the half share is $425. That is approximately $27 a week! Please indicate on the sign up form that you are looking for the half share.

Full Share:

The full share is designed for those who love an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables or have a large family (3-4 adults & 3+ children). The full share consists of 9-10 different varieties of fruits and vegetables every week for 16 weeks, beginning in July and ending in October. The box is just over one bushel. The cost of the full share is $625. That is $39 a week!

Winfield Farmers Market – Every Wednesday July 5th to October 18th in Winfield, IL from 7 am to 1 pm. Located on the SW corner of County Farm Rd & Geneva Rd in the Prairie Trail Center Shopping Plaza.

La Grange Farmers Market – Every Thursday July 6th to October 19th in La Grange, IL from 7 am to 1 pm. Located on the SE corner of La Grange Rd and Harris Ave.

Park Ridge Farmers Market – Every Saturday July 8th to October 21th in Park Ridge, IL from 7 am to 1 pm. Located at 15 Prairie Ave.
